Shweta Bhatt
Shweta Bhatt is a Post-graduate in Botany. She has worked as Associate Professor for one year in Mumbai. She is waiting for the final formalities of her PhD thesis entitled ‘Environmental Appraisal of Mangrove Wetlands of South Gujarat – using remote sensing’ to be completed. She has worked for 3 ½ years for a project on ‘Mangrove Health Assessment’ of mangrove areas of Gujarat at her alma matter - The M. S. University of Baroda. She has made thorough use of the remote sensing software for this project work and has done detailed field work in the mangrove areas of Gujarat, from Kori creek to South Gujarat region. Through this project she has developed the understanding of various mangrove species and their importance. She has also worked under Forest Department of Gujarat for the assessment of medicinally important flora of Chotta Udepur region and the dependency of locales on them.
Currently she is working as a Conservation Officer at CAT and focusing her energies on conservation of the mangroves.
