A Guide to Environmental Public Hearings

Public consultation is very important process of the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) process. It is intended to ascertain the views of ‘local affected persons’ and ‘others with a plausible stake in the environmental aspects of the project’ on the environmental impacts of a proposed project.

Environics Trust and Legal Initiative for Forest and Environment (LIFE) published a report “Making our Voices Matter – A Guide to Environmental Public Hearings” in 2011. This publication was with the financial support of the Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund (CEPF)
