CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISTS

CAT conducted a three-day capacity building workshop for environmental activists. This training programme was held at the Training Ship Rehman, Nhava between 3rd and 5th March 2006.

The participants were addressed by an eminent panel of speakers namely Mr. Debi Goenka, Executive Trustee – Conservation Action Trust; Dr. Claude Alvares, Director of The Goa Foundation; Mr. Shiraz Rustomjee, Advocate with the Bombay High Court; Mr. Kishor Rithe – Trustee – Conservation Action Trust; Dr. P.N. Munde (IFS), Conservator of Forests and Director Sanjay Gandhi National Park; and Mr. Vivek Kulkarni, Senior Manager and Head of the Mangrove Project, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. The workshop trained the participants in various techniques that could be utilized while working to protect and preserve the forests and our environment.
