Functioning of Dahanu Taluka Environment Protection Authority

Debi Goenka was an invitee of the DTEPA earlier during the Chairmanship of Late Justice Chandrashekhar Dharmadhikari. Mr. Goenka had raised his concerns regarding the issues pertaining to Dahanu Taluka, especially the forest land, the mangroves, the presence of the Thermal power plant and numerous other projects which will lead to fragmentation and further degradation of the pristine areas of Dahanu Taluka. His intervention and critiques has led to thorough scrutiny of the project proposals coming before the Dahanu Taluka Environment Protection Authority. The authority has stopped inviting Mr. Goenka as an invitee since the appointment of the new chairman of DTEPA.
