MATHERAN

Continuous degradation of the forests within Matheran’s Ecosensitive area (ESA) has been observed at an alarming rate. CAT’s advocacy for the protection of the Matheran ESA and follow up with the FD has reduced the disturbance and destruction by the hotels. It has also helped control and reduce the dumping of garbage on forest lands. CAT continues to work towards the protection of the forest and biodiversity of Matheran.
