CAT is working with Satpuda Foundation (SF) for protection of tigers and tiger habitats. CAT and SF are also working together to provide forest dwellers with renewable energy solutions. This would take off the pressure from the tiger habitats as well as uplift livelihood of the locals. Owing to CAT’s legal expertise CAT has played key role in working along with SF for preventing denotification of 500 sq. kms. of Melghat wildlife sanctuary, which is now part of the buffer zone and protected under the WPA (1972).
